Yes, we meet the third Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. We are still offering hybrid format so you can join in-person at the Q Center or over Zoom. To protect our members, we are requiring face masks for everyone meeting in-person.

No, everyone is welcome to attend. No registration is necessary.

Each meeting begins with an ice breaker that goes around the room and via Zoom, and then the floor opens up for anyone who wants to share their stories or whatever is on their mind. As listeners, we do not offer advice unless the speaker asks, and we do not offer feedback without obtaining consent. No one is obligated to speak if they don't want to. Once everyone who wants to share has done so, the meeting then turns to whatever topic someone wants to bring up. After the meeting ends, there is usually an in-person hangout at an outdoor heated patio within walking distance of Q Center.

Depending on the time of year, we usually have a core group of 5 - 7 regular attendees and 2 - 3 new people attending in-person. We usually have 3 - 5 folks attending online.

We are a group of folks who've come to the realization that we are not straight later in life, however “later in life” is defined by the person. We've had folks coming out in their early twenties and others who are in their 60s and 70s. Our group is made up of people who identify as women (transwomen are women. Period.) and nonbinary folks.

Attendees are expected to keep what’s discussed in the meeting confidential and be respectful and considerate listeners. Folks are responsible for their conduct and will be mindful of giving time and holding a safe space for folks to share. After listening to someone sharing, we obtain consent before offering feedback, being mindful that consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Absolutely! Late Awakenings is for people who identify as women or non-binary, regardless of sexual orientation.

Yes. We are still conducting hybrid meetings so you can log in from anywhere in the world through our Zoom link.

No, you don’t have to be on camera. However, if this is your first time, the facilitator might ask you to briefly be on camera to confirm who you are, to prevent Zoom-bombing and other disruptions. After confirmation, you are welcome to turn your camera off if that is your preference. You can also contact the facilitator ahead of time if you are unable to join with video and make other arrangements for confirmation.
